PKF Zambia - Ndola CSR Day 2023
This year our Ndola office’s Corporate Social Responsibility was held on 8th December 2023 at Kanyanje Primary School.
Our preparation started with identifying the beneficiaries in our community. With the support from the office Partner Mrs. Musonda M. Kambikambi and the entire management at the Ndola office (not forgetting the Managing Partner’s office), following a strict process of scrutinization, Kanyanje Primary School was selected amongst the schools visited by the CSR team.
Kanyanje Primary School is located in Masaiti District in the outskirts of Ndola. The school has a total number of 531 pupils. The school faces many challenges ranging from sanitation, shortage of teaching and learning materials and many others.
Therefore, having identified the lack of proper toilets at the school, we are happy to inform you that we have built an ablution block for both teachers and the pupils. In response to the shortage of books, we have donated more than 120 copies of books from grade four (4) to grade seven (7) of different subjects ranging from Mathematics, Technology and many others as recommended by the school Headmaster and the PTA chairperson. We also planted 30 fruit trees and 10 exotic trees to improve the beauty of the school and in response to our theme for this year’s CSR of "PKF Zambia Cares for the people and the environment."
The District Commissioner for Masait District Ms Ennie Matutu was the guest of honour, who was also accompanied by District Education Standard Officer (DESO) and other government officials.
In their speeches, the Head teacher and the PTA Chairperson expressed gratitude and were extremely happy to receive the donation. Going forward, they requested the firm to consider constructing a one by two-classroom block to help cushion the shortage of classroom space at the school.
To enhance the visibility of the PKF brand and further promote our CSR activities, we invited Sun FM who aired the activity on community news.
To conclude the day, the staffs had lunch at Minsundu Recreation Park.
